Third opposing speech
First of all, I would like to state a fundamental difference in the fields of science.
First of all, I would like to state a fundamental difference in the fields of science.
On the one hand, we have what some call “pure science”, such as theoretical physics or biology. This science has truth as sole aim, and only wishes to expand human knowledge.
On the other hand, we have something we are going to call applied science, which exists in all fields. This type of science aims at using theoretical discoveries to transform them into something valuable for any industry willing to pay for it. Under the cover of security, health, happiness… the real goals are money and power. [Continues below...]

As a first step, it is important to note that science is neither moral nor immoral,indeed science in its broadest sense simple and original, does not concern the morality and satisfied with giving answers or explanations of natural phenomena. This observation might innocently believe that all scientific research has as sole aim the search for truth. Nevertheless scientific research has a cost, these are supported by companies or states with the specific aim of a possible use of the research (trade, weapons, medicine ..). [...]

Looking over the world’s breaking discoveries, how many of them are not discovered accidentally while trying to understand a totally different phenomenon or to find an answer to the problems unsolved? Luigi Galvani observed an electrical circuit while he was investigating nerves in frog legs in 1791; several experimenters discovered artificial sweeteners while trying to create something else; The discovery of two planets, Uranus and Pluto were accidental as were the discovery of the elements iodine and helium, etc. There are too many accidental scientific discoveries through the ages. Although morality tempts to regulate the objective of science researches and ways of research, the results of scientific researches can hardly be regulated. […]

Science plays an important and vital role in our lives when it comes to morality, people say science is neutral but that’s not quite true. Of course, the Nuclear power plants, the internet all these things have brought inestimable conveniences to our daily life, but in the same time, they brought many moral issues as well, the internet and the computer make us less distant with our friends and families no matter in which corner of the world, but it also takes us away from the real life and just put us into a virtuel black hole, and it also causes some addictions we've never faced before. Even if the consequences are unfathomable when all these things disappear tomorrow , you can't deny the fact that all those scientific developments are related and interacted with the morality. [...]

Introduction
Our debate today is “science and morality don’t mix”. It is a fact that over the years, science has made research that some people disapprove of, because of morality. The first question our debaters will have to answer is: what exactly is morality? This is the less obvious of the terms of the motion (even if you can argue that science is a very large term and need a proper scope), because even if we often use it, we rarely think about its meaning. I will let the debaters pick up the definition they want and just refer to morality as values human beings choose for them. [...]
